What is a Fangate?

This is a social media term, specific to Facebook business pages. A Fangate is a landing tab for people who have not yet "Liked" your business page. This is usually a custom designed tab on your business page which visitors land on first when they visit your Facebook page. When the Fangate is turned on, this tab blocks new visitors from seeing the rest of your page/wall and other tabs until they "Like" your page. Once visitors "Like" your page, they are free to roam about and see all of your pictures, wall posts, notes, discussions, videos, etc. Fangates are a great way to increase the number of fans of your page.
