Girl Scouts | Arizona Cactus-Pine Council

Girl Scouts – Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) (www.girlscoutsaz.org) is a non-profit organization serving girls ages 5-17 in more than 90 communities in Arizona, including Indian Reservations, military installations, and border communities in the central and northern parts of the state.

The GSACPC contacted ROCKET MEDIA looking for help in reorganizing and enhancing their existing website. After dedicated teamwork and planning between GSACPC and ROCKET MEDIA, a new more organized website was unveiled.

Design

Fresh Banners
While the existing Girl Scouts website didn’t require any major design updates, new rotating banners were designed to highlight different programs, camps and other events.

Backend
The administrative side of the website received significant organizational upgrades. Now, GSACPC staff can easily log in to the user backend to make edits, add content and more with little trouble. A form system was also integrated so custom forms can easily be created as needed.

Navigation
The main navigation of the site underwent a full revision and quick links were added to the site to improve the overall visitor experience. The main calls to action are now also clearly displayed to encourage more participation.

Features

Improved Search
The GSACPC website contains a large amount of information. It was important to make locating this information as simple as possible. To do this, ROCKET MEDIA added a search feature to the top of every page. Optimized for keywords and frequently searched data, the feature helps visitors find what they’re looking for.

Donations
Donations make up a significant portion of the overall funding for Girl Scouts programs, camps, events, memberships and more. To make it easier to contribute financially to the GSACPC, a secure online donation form is now integrated and features a one-click “Donate Now” button prominently displayed on every page.

Events Calendar
The Girl Scouts use a dynamic calendaring system to keep their multiple programs, events, camps and more organized. ROCKET MEDIA helped them incorporate this tool into the website so it could be available to a broader audience. Additionally, the events page was restructured to a collapsible display for easier viewing and navigation.

Media & News
The media and news section of the website also received somewhat of an overhaul. Now, items are categorized, archived and displayed in an easy to read news feed format.
