Unauthorized Email Spoof / Spam Communications

Recently we have been receiving calls from individuals who are getting email messages from spammers, posing as ROCKET MEDIA. It is unfortunate these types of communications are being sent, and certainly quite frustrating that they are using our good name. It should be made clear that ROCKET MEDIA does not participate or send unauthorized communications and that we are in no way associated with these recent spam attacks. All of our communications are sent via our opt-in email communication system that allows us to remain compliant with anti-spam laws, and send to only those who wish to hear from us.

Here is an example of a recent spam communication that someone forwarded to us:

As you can see, this spammer did not send this communication from a ROCKET MEDIA email address (@rocketmedia.com or @rocketmediastudios.com) however; they are signing the email with our company name. It’s important to note that this was sent from an “@gmail” account.

We work hard to optimize our site so that when you type “ROCKET MEDIA” into your search, we are the first to show up. It appears to be no coincidence that this spammer is using our search ranking to aid in their ability to falsely represent the very services we provide. As a professional organization, we do not condone this type of activity, and are taking steps to stop the communications.

If you happen to receive an email like the example above, please report it to gmail at: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/request.py?hl=en&contact_type=abuse
